SYNOPSIS

Diondra launches Meidulou into Cronos' orbit, where it will wreak havoc on the planet's ecosystem. However the weapon doesn't function as planned, going out of control and causing an earthquake. The tremors are felt at the Battle Base before the disturbance subsides. A Jet Tribe patrol finds chunks of ice are falling from the the sky and report back to the base. Kenpô Robo deduces that something is wrong with the planet's poles, which are slowly reversing. He believes uniting the four Elements to draw on the Hyribead would give them the power to stop the problem. Falcon Robo advocates all-out attack to retake the two captured elements but Rom, still without the Wolf Sword, asks for time to think over their next course of action. His meditation is interrupted by Wrestler Robo, who shows him the Power Riser suits he has built - exo-skeleton battle armour. After some successful testing Rom's spirits are lifted. Enraged at the failure of the Meidulou, Gadess slashes Diondra's face and is about to kill her before Garudi points out that Meidulou is having some serious effects on the planet. Gadess is pleased but realises this will lead to an attempt to regain the Phoenix Armour and Lion Shield, so charges Diondra with protecting them. That night Rom tries to sneak out in a Power Riser but is discovered by Leina and Wrestler Robo then everyone else, and they all volunteer to come and fight alongside him. The Gyandlar detect the task force and Garudi asks if Rom can be left to him. Diondra agrees and sets off with Devil Satan 6 to tackle the rest of the Machine Robo.

Rom, Leina and Wrestler Robo head off to find the Wolf Sword and the missing elements while the rest of the task force keep the Gyandlar busy. The planet is still being rocked by earthquakes and storms, damaging Rockdon and Rockgiran. Buggy Robo and Skyline Robo are both destroyed taking the three Power Risers up to the mothership, causing Rom to lash out at Devil Satan 6. Wrestler Robo warns that his rage will affect the Power Riser but Garudi intervenes, injuring him with Rom's sword. Garudi then tries to kill Leina but is distracted by the sudden vision of her as a young child. Rom is calmed by a visitation from Kirai and he is able to call the Wolf Sword back from Garudi. He and Leina rapidly supress the Devil Satan 6 before Rom chases after the fleeing Garudi. The conditions on Cronos keep getting worse as the battle rages

NOTES

Jim is afraid of earthquakes. The Power Riser suits are tuned to the brain waves of each user and follow their exact commands. Tough Trailer has received a huge gun like his brother's.

For the first time in a long time the generic monster Gyandlar mooks from early episodes are seen. This is the first episode not to feature either Kenryû or Baikanfu .

REVIEW

Finally there's a bit more of a sense of things coming to a head. The actual deployment of the Meidulou is an odd, confused affair and the actual effects of the thing flit in and out of the episode but the rest of it hangs together nicely. Gadess lashing out at Diondra is rather shocking and it's nice to see Leina getting her hands dirty too.

Very promising for the closing episodes.
