SNOW TROOPER
  Code Name: ICEBERG

The 1986 series featured several like-for-like replacements for older figures - Lifeline replaced Doc; Dial-Tone replaced Breaker; Lift-Ticket replaced Wild Bill; Slip-Stream replaced Ace; Sci-Fi replaced Flash; Leatherneck replaced Gung Ho; Wet-Suit replaced Torpedo. Iceberg was a straight replacement for Snow Job. Like most of the fourth series figures, he got a feature episode and several meaty roles in the second full season of Sunbow's animated series, but made little impression on the Marvel comic

Iceberg's uniform is jazzed up with a light blue torso, making him a bit more visually interesting (and so I'm not shuffling around the elephant in the room, bluntly the character being black helps on this front too), while he's peppered with some great details like the painted snow goggles and red insignia on one shoulder.

Articulation and balance are decent enough as well. The only real problem with Iceberg is his accessories. Or accessory - he only came with a rather silly long white rifle which he can't quite convincingly mount with both hands. I keep meaning to switch it to something he could conceivably use, to be honest.

Iceberg also originally came with no backpack - the one he has in the pictures is from the first version of Gung Ho, and nearly nearly matches the torso colours. I feel it gives him more of an arctic commando feel - he's not going to get very far on a mission in the South Pole without some supplies, is he? In all, Iceberg is a solid, if unspectacular, figure. Hopefully a G3 update will be in the offing at some point.
