DREADNOK
  Code Name: TORCH

Introduced in 1985 along with Buzzer and Ripper, Torch was one of the original Dreadnoks given to Zartan to command. As his name might suggest, he was the one with the blowtorch, though in practice it tended to be a flame-thrower - a bit like Blowtorch, really, especially in that he tended not to actually set much on fire.

Two 25th Anniversary versions of Torch were made - the first with a black jacket, sold in a two-pack with the green shirted version of Ripper, the second with a brown jacket, sold individually. I went for the former as the colours look better - no big grand reasoning there.

He is a neat figure, though not for the first time a bare-armed 25th Anniversary figure looks a little bit too much like Gung Ho (meaning Torch overlaps a little with the later ersatz 25th version of Monkeywrench). He does, however, have a very recognisable head sculpt, complete with his big mutton-chops, shades and headband. The jacket, complete with Melbourne Maulers biker gang logo and moulded chains around the shoulders, is excellent too.

The accessories are less of a success, however. While his flame-thrower is faithfully reduced, right down to a (removable) gas canister on the backpack and a big holster for the thing, the plastic tube connecting it is inflexible, and tends to spring the flame-thrower out of Torch's hand. By way of recompense, there's a Ripper-style rifle included - I'm not sure why, but at least it means he gets something he can actually hold. Torch isn't a particularly bad figure, though, he's just nowhere near as impressive as Buzzer and Ripper are.
