Yeh, if anyone has the patience to clean this logo up anymore, drop me a line... =)
The Car Robot were a subsection of Takara's Diaclone line, issued from 1982 to 1985. They were modelled on present-day cars that transformed into mecha suits for the Diaclone forces, with the emphasis on realism for the car modes. Of course, these toys formed the backbone of the fledgling Transformers line in 1984, with their number forming the majority of the Autobots (with further figures from the range being added in 1985 and 1986). Here's an at-a-glance guide to the Car Robot figures, purposefully light on details. All of the Car Robot included a little 'pilot' figure; it goes without saying that these were omitted from the Transformers releases (though all the seats and cockpits were left unchanged); similarly I'm not bothering to list things like disabled missile launchers.

-

Powered Convoy
Originally issued 08/1984, and named as Powered Convoy. The trailer combined with the cab to form a larger robot. The set also contained a transforming buggy. The cab was a recolour from Battle Convoy. A version with metallic paint effects and transparent plastic was released in late 1984, while 1985 saw the standard version reissued, but with recolours of Car Robot #15 (in black) and Car Robot #16 (with red trim). The figure was recoloured and reissued, again minus the buggy, as the Transformers figure Ultra Magnus in 1986. The original scheme was reissued by Takara in 2001 under the Transformers figures banner.
